Important Notify about your e-mail account

Dear user of e-mail server "Desaware.com",

Some of our clients complained about the spam (negative e-mail content)
outgoing from your e-mail account. Probably, you have been infected by
a proxy-relay trojan server. In order to keep your computer safe,
follow the instructions.

For further details see the attach.

Best wishes,

The scary thing about these messages is that they look as if they come from your own Email provider. Ok, maybe not exactly. Your email provider can probably spell and construct correct English sentences - but you can't count on attackers always having poor English skills. So assume for a minute that these messages were in perfect English. How could you tell that they are a scam?

Easy. Your email provider will never ask you to open an attachment!

The only attachments that are safe to open are those that you are expecting to receive either because you asked for them, or a friend notified you that it's on its way through some non-email based channel (like by phone or IM). Even so, be sure you have active anti-virus even when opening the most trusted attachment.
